  1. Corticoids are a group of chemically related steroid hormones released by three concentric layers, namely the inner, middle, and outer layers.
  2. Corticoid is produced and secreted by the adrenal cortex (an exterior, solid, pale yellow tissue derived from embryonic mesoderm) of the adrenal gland.
