Properties of covalent compounds include:
Have low boiling points and melting points.
Generally are poor conductors of heat and electricity.
Exist as brittle solids.
For example, a water molecule, H2O, is formed by the sharing of electrons between hydrogen and oxygen. And another example of a covalent compound is "Carbon dioxide, CO2, where carbon and oxygen share electrons.
