What are drugs? I have heard that it is illegal, but I saw the word used in medicine, iss it not illegal?

Drug is any chemical substance or a medicine which is when introduced into the body or ingested can altered the body's function either psychological or in physical way.

Drugs which are sold legally are approved by The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the OTC monograph system to ensures that drugs are safe and effective. Drugs which are legally sold are caffeine (in tea & coffee), alcohol etc. Whereas illegally sold drugs are cocaine, heroin and Cannabis.
