Solution
Ferromagnetic substance
Ferromagnetic materials are substances that are strongly attracted by a magnetic field.
The metal ions of ferromagnetic compounds are clustered together in small regions termed domains.
Each domain serves as a little magnet. The domains in an unmagnetized portion of a ferromagnetic substance are randomly orientated, and their magnetic moments cancel.
When a magnetic field is applied to a substance, all of the domains become oriented in the direction of the magnetic field as shown in the diagram given below, resulting in a significant magnetic effect.
This domain ordering persists even after the magnetic field is removed and the ferromagnetic substance becomes a permanent magnet.
Examples of ferromagnetic substances
Examples of ferromagnetic substances are cobalt, iron,Nickel.
