Open in App
Solution

Purposes Of Fruit:

  1. Fruits are seed-bearing structures which develop from a ripe ovary.
  2. They are also necessary for birds and other animals to ingest seeds.
  3. Fruits serve the following purposes:
    1. To keep seeds safe while they grow
    2. They ripen as seeds mature, and instead of protecting them, they help disperse them.
    3. To keep seeds safe from herbivory.
    4. Animals transport and discard seeds when they eat fruits, which helps plants disperse seeds further.
    5. Fruits also fall off the trees, sprouting new fruit plants right next to the existing ones.
