Solution

Genotypes:

  1. The genotype of an organism is its whole set of genetic material.
  2. The alleles or variants that an individual carries in a given gene or genetic region are referred to as genotypes.
  3. Ploidy, or the number of copies of each chromosome found in a species, determines the number of alleles that an individual can have in a certain gene.
  4. Two entire sets of chromosomes are present in diploid animals like humans, implying that each individual has two alleles for each gene.
  5. Homozygous refers to a genotype in which both alleles are identical, and if the alleles are different, the genotype is called heterozygous.
