The homologous organs are the organs which are similar in the appearance. They perform different functions in different organisms. The structure and the arrangement of the bones in the wings of birds and the forelimbs of lizard and frog is similar. They perform different functions in these organisms. They belong to the group of vertebrates.
The other example is the forelimb of the dog and flipper of whale. They perform different function but have the same structure.
