Question

What are integral roots?

Open in App
Solution

Determine the integral roots.

The numbers which satisfy the value of a polynomial are called its roots, and the roots which are integers that are not irrational or imaginary are called integral roots.

For example:

If a polynomial has integral coefficients then all the coefficients of the polynomial are integers.

That is px=x2+2x+1, here all the coefficients are integers hence the root which is x=-1,-1 which are integers

Hence, Integral roots were found in quadratic equations having integral coefficients.
