Interferons:

1. After the host vaccination, some proteins are released in cells in response to the invasion of pathogens like viruses, bacteria, etc. known as Interferons.
2. They are of two types - Type I (INF-α & β) & Type II (INF-γ).
3. They are glycoproteins in nature.
