What are introns?

Solution

The DNA have regions called as exons and introns. Introns are the regions which do not code for the proteins. These are the regions which are removed from the mRNA by the splicing process. The exons are the regions which encode for the amino acids in the proteins. The introns are removed and the exons are ligated during post transcriptional modification.
