Isotopes:
The atoms of the same element, having the same atomic number \(Z\), but different mass number \(A\), are called isotopes.
Example: \(\text{Carbon}-12,~\text{Carbon}-13,~\text{Carbon}-14\) are three isotopes of carbon each having six protons, but six, seven, and eight neutrons respectively.
