Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by circulating blood on the wall of arteries. The normal blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg. The range varies according to the age. Blood pressure is measured by sphygnomanometer.
Disease related to blood pressure are: 1) Hypertension: When the blood pressure gets high in the arteries and increase than normal levels. When blood pressure increases than 140/90 mm Hg it is considered as hypertension. High blood pressure increases chances of heart disease. 2) Hypotension: When blood pressure gets lower than 90/60 mm Hg. It can sometimes lead to life threatening conditions like shock.
