Sand, silt, clay, inorganic solids such as silicates, fluorides, detergents, pesticide residues, industrial wastes, bacteria, algae, oils, etc. There are different methods of water purification. Contaminants such as oils are removed via settling tank which allows these contaminants to settle down. Microorganisms are generally removed via chlorination which acts as disinfectants. Filtration and distillation is also used to remove the impurities from the water.
