Manures :

  1. Manure is the degraded form of dead plants and animals spread on the soil to boost productivity.
  2. It is a cost-effective and natural source of fertiliser.
  3. Excreta from humans and animals are also utilised as manure.
  4. The nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium content in livestock manure is high.

Classification of Manures:

Manures are categorised into three sorts and used accordingly:

Animal Manure:

  1. This category comprises the most basic animal dungs. It also contains animal waste that is composted.

Human Manure:

  1. This category covers basic human waste such as urine and faeces.

Green manure

  1. It comprises total plant wastes obtained from underused or dead plants or their parts.
