Solution

Dear Student,
when the soap molecules are present in water they orient themselves in such a fashion that the hydrophobic chains face on the inside and all the hydrophillic groups arrange n the periphery forming a sphere. This is called as micelle.
The micelle formation is responsible for the removal of dirt from clothes
Micelles are different from normal colloids because micelles get formed only at a particular concentration . called as critical micellar concentration. When the concentration is below CMC the micelles remain as colloidal solution but when the concentration rise above CMC the colloidal soap solution changes to micelle.
Two micelle forming substances are 1. Soaps and detergents
2. Fatty acids
