Question

What are mixed sheep stations?

Open in App
Solution

Instructions:
Explain the mixed sheep stations.

Solution:
‘Sheep rearing’ is essential to the economy of Australia. These sheep are reared on vast properties covering several thousand square kilometres. The sheep graze on pasturelands and are cared for by shepherds. Some stations raise cattle and goats along with sheep. Crops are also grown so that the owner is less affected by the fluctuations in the prices of beef and wool in the market. Such stations involving sheep, cattle, and goat rearing along with growing crops are called mixed sheep stations.
