  • A mixture is formed when atoms or molecules of the same or different particles combine with each other physically.
  • For example - Air is a mixture of gases like Carbon dioxide(CO2), Nitrogen(N2), Oxygen(O2), etc; dust, Water vapors(H2O)
  • Mixtures of majorly of two types - Homogeneous and Heterogeneous mixtures.
  • Homogeneous mixtures are those mixtures that have uniform composition and their constituents cannot be seen by naked eyes. For example - A mixture of salt and water, etc.
  • Heterogeneous mixtures are those mixtures that do not have uniform composition and their constituents can be seen from naked eyes. For example - a mixture of sand and water, a mixture of iron filings and sand, etc.
