Monomials: Any algebraic expressions consisting of one term are known as monomials.
Examples: x,2x and x2 are all monomials

Binomials: Any algebraic expressions consisting of two terms are known as binomials.

Examples: x2+x,2x4,x2+2 are all binomials.

Trinomials: Any algebraic expressions consisting of three terms are known as trinomials.

Examples: x2+x2,x3+x2+1,1+2x3x2 are all trinomials.

Polynomials: Any algebraic expressions consisting of one or more terms are known as polynomials.

Examples: x3,x3x2,x3x2x,x32x2+3x+5 are all polynomials.
