Open in App
Solution

The noble gases, also known as the inert gases, are the elements that belong to group 18 of the modern periodic table. The elements that belong to this group are:
  • Helium (He)
  • Neon (Ne)
  • Argon (Ar)
  • Krypton (Kr)
  • Xenon (Xe)
  • Radon (Rn)
Uniqueness of noble gases:
  • They are in gaseous state at room temperature.
  • They are the least reactive elements.
  • They generally do not combine with other atoms.
  • They have fully filled outer shells either with 2 electrons (He) or 8 electrons (such as Ne, Ar).
