1. A magnet is a substance which produces magnetic field around it.
2. These magnetic fields are invisible and are responsible for the attraction of magnetic substances.
3. Based on the attraction of materials towards the magnets, materials can be classified into two, magnetic and nonmagnetic materials.
4. Those substances which are not attracted by the magnetic materials are called non-magnetic materials.
5. Examples of non-magnetic materials are paper, copper, aluminium etc.
