Solution

The rivers which flow or hold water throughout the year are called perennial rivers. eg-Indus, Ganga, Brahmaputra etc.
Non perennial rivers are those which depend on rainfall and its flow is restricted for few months only. eg..Godavari , Mahanadi etc.

Himalayan region consists of perennial rivers as most of the rivers originate from the snow covered Himalayas which supply water to these rivers. The snow melts during summers and add up to the volume of the river making it flow all the year round.
