Open in App
Solution

Primary spermatocyte is a diploid cell that has been derived from a spermatogonium and can subsequently begin meiosis and divide into two haploid secondary spermatocytes. Primary spermatocytes are diploid (2N) cells containing 46 chromosomes. After Meiosis I, two secondary spermatocytes are formed. Secondary spermatocytes are haploid (N) cells that contain 23 chromosomes.
The formation of primary spermatocytes begins in humans when a male is sexually matured at puberty.
