Definition of a quadratic equation:

A quadratic equation is any algebraic equation of highest degree 2. The standard form of the quadratic equation in variable x is ax2+bx+c=0, where aandbare coefficients, c is constant and a is a non zero number.

The examples of a quadratic equations are:

(i)x2+3x+2=0(ii)2x2-x+1=0(iii)x2+x=0

Thus, a quadratic equations are the polynomial equation of degree two in one variable.
