Solution

Definition of Rational numbers and examples of Positive and Negative rational numbers:

  • Any number that can be expressed in the form of pq where pand q are integers and q0 is called a rational number.

Any rational number is said to be positive rational number if both numerator and denominator of the rational number is positive or negative integers.

Examples of five positive rational numbers are:

17,-3-10,1611,-37-52,917 etc.

Any rational number is said to be negative rational number if either numerator is negative integer or denominator is negative integer.

Examples of five negative rational numbers are:

-35,1-8,2-7,-8397,123-125etc.

Thus, any number that can be expressed in the form of pq where pand q is integers and q0and positive rational numbers are 17,-3-10,1611,-37-52,917and negative rational numbers are -35,1-8,2-7,-8397,123-125
