What are represented by the equation x3y3=(ya)(x2y2).

Open in App
Solution

Given equation: x3y3=(ya)(x2y2)
(xy)(x2+y2+xy)=(ya)(xy)(x+y)
(x2+y2+xy)=(xy+y2axay) & xy=0
x2=axay
x2+ax+ay=0
Thus we obtain 2 curves; xy=0 which is a straight line and x2+ax+ay=0 which is a parabola.
