What are satellite cities and smart cities?
Answer:
In cities, population pressure on land, infrastructure, and the environment is immense, and civic agencies are wrestling with issues such as clean air, mobility, sanitation, water, and public safety, among others. Hence there is a need for developing a sustainable solution.
Smaller municipalities that are next to a larger city that is the centre of a metropolitan area are known as satellite cities or satellite towns. They differ from ordinary suburbs, subdivisions, and notably bedroom communities in that they have their own municipal governments and employment bases adequate to maintain their residential populations.
It is a city where there is a significant and extensive improvement in the physical, social, and economic infrastructure.
