Single replacement reactions:
A chemical reaction in which one element or compound is replaced by another element or compound is known as a single replacement reaction.
It is also called a single displacement reaction or exchange reaction.
Example of real-life single replacement reactions:
Water formation from two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen.
Saltwater reacts with concrete pillars which contain iron to form Iron chloride .
Silver is known to react with hydrogen sulfide gas which is produced by some industrial processes due to the decaying of plants and animals. Silver sulfide and hydrogen gas are formed in this reaction.
