Spores:
- Spores are single-celled entities released through bacteria, fungi, nonflowering plants, and algae.
- These are produced as a product of asexual reproduction.
Spores produced from bacteria:
- Bacteria produce spores in unfavorable conditions to survive; such spores are called endosomes.
- The process of production of spores is called sporogenesis.
Spores produced from algae:
- Algae create spores as a method of asexual reproduction
- These spores can be either non-motile (aplanospores) or motile (zoospores); that is, they can migrate from one location to another via flagella.
- Single-celled or multicellular fungal spores exist.
- Depending on the species, they occur in various colors, shapes, and sizes.
Spores produced from fungi:
- Two types of spores are formed asexual or sexual fungal spores exist.
- Plants that don't have seeds, like ferns and mosses, grow from spores.
- Spores are created and discharged into the environment by sporangia.
