Square: Square of a number is the product obtained by multiplying the given number itself.

To find the square of a number $a$ we multiply the number itself. That is $a\times a=a^2$ is a square of a number $a$ .

For example:

Square root: The Square root of a number is a value that when multiplied by itself gives the original value.

There are two methods two find the square root of the given number:

• Prime factorization method
• Division method

For example:
