Square: Square of a number is the product obtained by multiplying the given number itself.

To find the square of a number a we multiply the number itself. That is a×a=a2 is a square of a number a .

For example:

square of 12

122=12×12122=144.

Square root: The Square root of a number is a value that when multiplied by itself gives the original value.

There are two methods two find the square root of the given number:

  • Prime factorization method
  • Division method

For example:

Square root of 100 is:

100=10×10100=10
