Solution
Steroids:
Steroids are derived lipids that are found in almost every species of animal and do not contain fatty acids.
They are components of cell membrane that can increase membrane fluidity and are made up of four carbon ring structure.
Differences:
The main difference between other fused lipids and cholesterol is in the R-group associated with the ring structure.
The four-ring structure is also another unique feature related to the steroids only.
