Ionic solids- They are made up of ions and insulators in solid state. They will conduct electricity in aqueous solution only.
Covalent solids - There is strong covalent bong between them. They are insulators in solids state except the case of graphite, where there is a free electron in carbon. Example: Diamond, Silican
