Solution

Viruses :

  1. Viruses are non-living organisms that contain special protein molecules that get multiplied inside the cells of an organism.
  2. Viruses are disease-causing agents which are too small to be visible under an ordinary microscope.
  3. The two main categories of viruses are plant viruses and animal viruses.

Plant virus:

  1. They infect plant cells.
  2. Nucleic acid is mostly RNA but can also be DNA, which is often encased in a protein coat, and viruses are submicroscopic, communicable, intercellular, and obligate parasites.
  3. They can't be produced on artificial media since they are smaller than 200 nm and must multiply in a living host cell.
  4. Examples of small, rigid rod-shaped plant viruses are TMV, potato virus Y (PVY), and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV).

Animal virus:

  1. A tiny infectious virus known as an animal virus is unable to reproduce outside of a live animal cell.
  2. Only one kind of nucleic acid, either DNA or RNA, is present in animal viruses.
  3. The majority of the viral families cause disease in humans.
  4. They are significant cattle pathogens that are responsible for illnesses like blue-tongue and foot-and-mouth.
  5. Examples of animal viruses include papillomavirus, yellow fever, and rabies.
