Open in App
Solution

Blood group:

  1. The RBCs present in the blood carry certain molecules, called antigens, on their surface that determine what blood group you have.
  2. The antigens depend on the genes that are inherited from the parents.
  3. These antigens can be grouped in various categories to form a system for blood typing called the ABO system.

The rarest blood types are:

  1. B negative(B -ve), which is found in 1.5 percent of the total population.
  2. AB negative(AB -ve), which is found in 0.6 percent of the total population.
  3. AB positive(AB +ve), which is found in 3.4 percent of the total population.
