Angina:

  1. Angina is a sharp and shooting pain arising in the chest wall due to interruption in the blood supply to the heart.
  2. It occurs when there is a thrombus or blockage in the artery which is supplying the heart muscles.
  3. When these heart muscles are deprived of oxygen even for a short duration of time they cause this sudden discomfort or chest pain.
  4. The types of angina are:
  • Stable angina
  • Variant angina
  • Unstable angina
