Open in App
Solution

The three types of bryophytes are:

  • Mosses:
  1. Mosses are tiny and flowerless plants which grow in moist areas and look like Mat.
  2. They reproduce with the help of spores and they grow in tufts or sods.
  3. These are non-vascular and they do not bear seeds.
  • Liverworts
  1. Liverworts called so because the small leaves grow in the shape of the liver.
  2. These too are flowerless, spore producing plants but they are larger than mosses.
  3. They also grow in most areas.
  • Hornworts
  1. They are found in the shape of elongated hornlike structure.
  2. The horn like structure refers to the sporophyte and the flattened and green coloured plant body is the gametophyte.
