Solution

Circulatory system:

Circulatory system is a type of organ system which helps in transport of blood across the body of the organism.

Circulatory system can be of following type:

  • Single circulation:
  1. In the single circulation the blood flows through the heart only once in the full circuit of circulation.
  2. This type of circulation occurs in fishes.
  3. The blood from the heart goes straight to the gills where the carbon dioxide is excreted and oxygen is absorbed.
  4. This blood from the gills is sent to the body organs directly and it does not come back to the heart.
  • Incomplete double circulation:
  1. In incomplete double circulation the oxygenated and Deoxygenated blood gets mixed up.
  2. This type of circulation takes place in amphibians and reptiles.
  3. They have a three chambered heart with two atria and one ventricle.
  4. The pure and the impure blood coming from the atria gets mixed up in the single ventricle and is transported to the body.
  • Complete double circulation:
  1. This is the most advanced level of circulation.
  2. This type of circulation is found in mammals and in humans as well.
  3. In these organisms the heart is two chambered and the pure and the impure blood do not get mixed up.
  4. Since the blood comes to the heart two times hence this type of circulation is called double circulation.
