Open in App
Solution

Embryonic development:

  1. It is the process of an embryo's formation and development.
  2. It occurs in different stages and step by step.
  3. It is a gradual process.

Stages:

  1. Morula: The stage of development when the dividing cell mass comprises 20–30 cells and looks like a mulberry.
  2. Blastula: It is formed by the cleavage of a fertilized ovum and consists of a spherical layer of roughly 128 cells encircling a central fluid-filled cavity known as the blastocoel.
  3. Gastrula: Two or more (3) germinal layers of cells make up an early multicellular embryo, from which the numerous organs subsequently develop.
  4. Organogenesis: It is the stage in which organs of the embryo are developed.
