It is defined as the process of understanding and sharing of a message.

The eight components of communication are:

  1. Source - The source is the person or object which sends the message or information.
  2. Message - It is the information shared through communication.
  3. Channel - It is the way by which a message travel between the source and receiver.
  4. Receiver - It is the person or object at the receiving end which receives the message and analyses it.
  5. Feedback - It is composed of messages the receiver send backs to the source.
  6. Environment - It is the atmosphere, physical and psychological through which the message is sent.
  7. Context - It corresponds to the cause by which the message is sent
  8. Interference - It is anything that blocks or changes the source's intended meaning of message.
