1. The generation of electricity from water does not produce any environmental pollution.
2. Water energy is a renewable source of electric energy which will never get exhausted.

DISADVANTAGES:

1. A vast variety of flora and fauna (plants and animals) get affected.
2. Dams can be constructed only in a limited number of places.
