Solution

Apoptosis:

  1. Apoptosis, or "cell suicide," is a type of programmed cell death. Necrosis, on the other hand, is when cells die as a result of an injury.
  2. In multicellular organisms like humans,
    1. Every day, around 10 million cells die, balancing the 10 billion cells created by mitosis. As a result, the body's cell count is nearly constant.
    2. Apoptosis effectively eliminates virally contaminated cells.
    3. This mechanism eliminates autoaggressive T-cells.
    4. Apoptosis has become a crucial mechanism in the body's overall maintenance and development.
  3. Some of the negative consequences include: Apoptosis in excess can result in diseases such as autoimmune disorders, dementia, and so on. A lack of apoptosis can lead to disorders including cancer, ischemia, and heart wall injury, among other things.
