Applications of sound.

  1. Sound propagation is used by SONAR to assist submarines in navigating the aquatic systems.
  2. SONAR has also been used to investigate the sea's bottoms as well as the numerous items discovered under the waves.
  3. Ultrasound medical imaging is a technique that employs sound transmission to generate the double dark-skinned representation of organs as well as other regions of our system.

Therefore, the sound seems to be the expression used to designate what's really perceived whenever waves propagate through a substrate towards the ear.
