What are the associated organs that help in digestion?
Liver, pancreas, and salivary glands
The salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, and the pancreas are not a part of the digestive tract, but their secretions contain important enzymes which are crucial for the process of digestion. Therefore, they are considered as accessory organs. Salivary glands release saliva in the mouth while the liver and pancreas release their secretions into the small intestine.
