Causes of noise pollution:
It is a pollution caused by the excessive production of sound. When you listen to a song keeping the volume optimum then it appears music to you but if you increase its level too much then it becomes noise and causes noise pollution. Any sound which exceeds certain limit is a noise pollution. There are various sources of noise pollution present around us, Horning of vehicles, Noise from the loudspeakers etc.

Effect of noise pollution:

  • Loud and unwanted noise can damage psychological health.
  • Noise can cause annoyance and aggression.
  • Persistence loud noise can cause hypertension, high stress levels, hearing loss.
  • It hinder during sleep.
  • Noise pollution can lead to sleep deprivation and headaches.
  • It may increase the heart rate, decreased output, constriction of vessels and impaired vision.
  • In case of animals it can affect the heart, liver and brain
  • Exposure to sudden high noise level (e.g. explosion) can cause permanent hearing loss due to rupture of the ear drum.
