1. The ovulatory phase refers to the phase when a mature egg is released from the dominant follicle into the fallopian tube within an ovary.
2. The causes are:
   1. Submucous fibroids- These refer to a type of benign tumor that develops into the uterus and cause long-time heavy menstrual bleeding.
   2. Endometrial polyps- These are the small, soft growth in the uterus.
   3. Chronic endometritis- Refers to an inflammation in the uterine cavity.

The causes to be anovulatory:

1. In an anovulatory phase, an egg does not get released into the ovary during the menstrual cycle.
2. The possible reasons are:
   1. Menopause- It refers to the end of menstrual bleeding in females when the reproductive age of females comes to an end.
   2. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding- It is the condition when there is abnormal bleeding in the uterus that varies from a natural menstrual cycle.
   3. Perimenopausal bleeding- It is nothing but vaginal bleeding that is observed a year or more after the last menstrual cycle.
   4. Extrinsic hormone effects- Imbalances of certain hormones like androgens, follicle-stimulating hormones, and luteinizing hormones can cause certain disorders like PCOS, and obesity which lead to anovulation.
