Environmental pollution can be defined as a change in the physical, chemical or biological characteristics of the environment. There are several causes of pollution and a majority of these are a consequence of human activities such as automobile exhaust, industrial sewage and garbage, domestic and agricultural waste, etc. Natural causes of environment pollution include the decay of organic and inorganic components, emission from volcanic eruption and forest fires.
