Solution
Certain characteristic changes may occur during a chemical reaction. They are:
Evolution of a gas: In some reactions, the evolution of gas takes place in the form of bubbles.
Change in color: The color change of the reaction mixture may help us in the detection of some chemical reactions.
Formation of precipitate: During some reactions, the product is formed as an insoluble substance. These substances that settle at the bottom are known as a precipitate.
Change of state: When the reaction occurs, the state of the reactant may change and the product that forms may end up in a different state.
Change in energy: Energy may be given out (exothermic) or absorbed (endothermic) during some reactions.
