Let each side of a polygon be divided into three parts, and a dotted triangle replaces the middle part on three sides of the triangle.



Now, Similiarly middle part of all striaght side is also stretched to form another triangle.

When this process is repeated infinitely many times, a fractal is formed with the shape of a snowflake.

It will result in a shape of infinite sides.

Fractal made from a polygon has a closed shape. It can be verified from the above figure.

If the figure is formed upto finite number of sides then it is a polygon.

But if infinite number of sides of the figure are created then the formed fractal is not polygon.
