Chondrichthyes refer to the fishes possessing cartilaginous skeletons whereas Osteichthyes refer to the fishes having bony skeletons.

Chondrichthyes-

  2. These types of fish are exclusively found in marine water.
  3. The endoskeleton is made up of cartilage.
  4. Some fishes undergo internal fertilization.
  5. They are generally carnivores.

Osteichthyes-

  1. They are also known as teleostomi.
  2. These types of fish are found in both marine and freshwater.
  3. The endoskeleton is made up of bones.
  4. Some fishes undergo external fertilization.
  5. They are carnivores, omnivores, herbivores, etc.
