1. Cyclic compound, any one of a class of compounds whose molecules contain a number of atoms bonded together to form a closed chain or ring.
2. Cyclic compounds may be homocyclic ,containing all the carbon atoms in the ring,or heterocyclic,containing one or two hetero atoms in the carbon chain.
3. The cyclic compounds may be alicyclic like cyclohexane,cyclohexene or aromatic like benzene,pyridine.
4. Homo-alicyclic rings have chemical formula of the type C_nH_2n and aromatic homocyclic ring have chemical formula C_nH_n.
